It’s official—models off-duty have a new uniform. After seasons of the biker, it appears that runway stars are swapping out James Dean style for a streetwear vibe. Thanks in part to labels like Vetements and Alexander Wang, the stonewashed denim jacket and the bomber have become the toppers of choice for cool girls, worn with—what else!—a cozy hoodie. And yesterday in New York, model pals Kendall Jenner and Hailey Baldwin stepped out in almost identical versions of the look.
In her endless leather leggings, Jenner gave the streetwise aesthetic a streamlined finish, and her accessories were witty (note the furry bag from Givenchy) and classic (throwback Ahlem aviators) in equal measure. Baldwin took a similar approach in her Vetements hoodie, second-skin trousers (maybe skinny jeans have finally had their day?), and midnight blue bomber. On the other hand, the top-handle Saint Laurent satchel proves that the It bag is a street style staple that’s worth holding on to.
