When fashion folk think of Naples, Italy, they think of tailoring. So our curiosity was piqued when we learned that the grunge-loving Christophe Decarnin of Faith Connexion had collaborated with a Neapolitan collective Never Too Much Basic on his Resort 2017 collection. That the partnership seemed to be rooted in a punk ethos only made it more intriguing. So who is Never Too Much Basic and what do they do?
And how did the Italian De Vivo make a “connexion” with the reclusive, Paris-based Decarnin? After seeing a picture of Spanish DJ/model Sita Abellan wearing FC, NTMB reached out to Decarnin via Instagram, finding something simpatico between their aesthetics. If you want a piece of NTMB, you’ll have to shop Faith Connexion’s Resort collection when it arrives in stores later this year, or contact De Vivo, through social media.
