Seasoned Miu Miu shoppers never spend too much time deliberating over a new look on the store floor; they know that the house’s most coveted pieces have a habit of selling out within weeks. Those fans who dragged their feet on Spring 2010’s illustrated naked ladies, cats, and swallows were treated to a reprise with Resort 2016—in stores now!—but now there’s an even bigger surprise for those who might have missed out on the chicest Miu Miu trophy items. As a part of a celebration of the brand’s short film series, Women’s Tales, a selection of archive pieces from collections past, starting with Spring 2011 through Spring 2016, is being reissued exclusively at its 57th Street store in New York City.
The entire third floor of the boutique has been transformed into a cozy (and incredibly chic) seating room: A mirrored wall of archive shoes that includes those show-stopping Fall 2011 glitter-trim booties beckons as you enter the space, while an alluring display of neatly tailored jackets and lady bags from the past five years awaits around the next corner. Each look—be it the shimmering minidresses of Fall 2012 or the ruffled jackets of Spring 2015—has its own on-screen fashion moment of sorts, and the clothes formed the stylish wardrobe of starlets such as Miranda July and Gabrielle Union in the Women’s Tales. Take it from this writer, who spent far too long thumbing the racks this morning: The only dilemma for visitors here is deciding on which gorgeous throwback treasure to take home with them.
Miu Miu Club celebrating its Women’s Tales films and featuring its archive collection will be at the brand’s boutique at 11 East 57th Street from April 28 through May 8.
