Bobbi Kristina Brown died from a combination of immersion in water and drug intoxication, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office disclosed on Friday.
The report listed marijuana, alcohol, benzoylecgonine, benzodiazepines, and morphine as the drugs that contributed to Brown’s death, however, examiners were unable to “determine whether death was due to intentional or accidental causes” and categorized the manner of death as undetermined.
Brown died in Julyafter expending months in coma. The 22 -year-old was hospitalized on Jan. 31, 2015, after she was received unresponsive by her boyfriend Nick Gordon and friend Max Lomas in a bathtub at the couple’s home in Roswell, Georgia.
A judge ordered Brown’s autopsy results to be unsealed on Thursday after an Atlanta television station requested research reports be made public. According to Reuters, Prosecutors resisted research reports release, claiming it would compromise an ongoing criminal investigation into Brown’s death.
No criminal charges have been filed in connection with Brown’s death; however, a court-appointed representative for Brown filed a lawsuit against Nick Gordon in August. The suit claims Gordon physically and emotionally abused her, and also alleges that he stole more than $11,000 from Brown’s account after she was determined unresponsive in January. The suit accuses Gordon of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, unjust enrichment and conversion.
Brown was the only child of Whitney Houston, who died on Feb. 11, 2012, and one of singer Bobby Brown’s six children.
