On a hot summer day, that big steaming cup o’ joe, the one you order by rote from a hipster barista, can seem less inviting than usual. Which might explain why June has been designated National Iced Tea Month. The market for this type of “brewski” continues to expand, which means that there are plenty of places other than a bodega and Starbucks (hello, Argo!) to grab an iced tea. There are so many enticing flavor options—fruit infused, hibiscus vanilla Thai–style, matcha, Arnold Palmer—that you could probably make the celebration extend well into July. Things have gotten easier for DIYers, too. No time to sun-brew? There are newfangled home brew iced-tea bags to try. Poured over ice, nothing looks better in a Mason jar than an iced tea.
Above, from Instagram, a roundup of the most thirst-inducing glasses of iced tea, perfect for serving at a backyard barbecue, imbibing poolside, or sipping on a stroll through Central Park.
