America has never had a female head of state, and Ryan Gosling thinks it’s day for that to change.
In a recent interview with ES magazine the actorstated,
I suppose girls are better than men. They are stronger, more evolved. You can tell especially when you have daughters and you consider their early stages, they are just leaps and bounds beyond sons immediately.
I believe[ America] needs a woman’s touch. I’ve always liked females more. I was brought up by my mother and older sister. I saw my route into dance class. My home life now is mostly women. They are better than us. They attain me better.
He makes a good point, and it speaks to a broader problem in terms of the nature of the US political system.
Simply put, the US has never had enough female leadership.
At present, even Afghanistan has a higher percentage of females in its legislature than the US.
There is a number of reasons we should push for more female politicians. Studies prove, for example, female legislatures are more likely than men to champ bills regarding civil and liberties, education, health, labor and beyond.
There have been over 70 female presidents and prime ministers since 1960 when Sri Lanka elected Sirimavo Bandaranaike as the world’s first female prime minister.The US is definitely way behind the times.
